COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

See whether agreed controls work in practice.

Establish how agreed workplace controls are working in practice. VeriPrem carries out workplace health and safety checks, reviews relevant records and follows up actions, returning a site record and action register. Commercial Workplace Assurance supports single workplaces and multi-site portfolios.

01 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

A baseline, recurring visits or focused follow-through

Use Commercial Workplace Assurance to establish a current site position, compare several locations using one method or follow corrective actions through. Contractor Assurance is a distinct service for contractor records and site controls; Action Closure & Verification determines the supported status of existing actions.

  • A defined baseline at one workplace or newly added sites.
  • Periodic field checks against agreed operational controls.
  • A programme of incident-action follow-up within the agreed scope.

02 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

One site or a wider portfolio

Single site

See what is happening. Prioritise what needs attention. Establish a clear action record.

Multi-site portfolio

Use one method across several locations. Compare recurring themes. Track action closure. Give leadership a clearer operational view.

03 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

Commercial Workplace Assurance

Check agreed workplace health and safety controls through site observations and relevant records. The scope reflects the premises, activities and risks. You receive a site record, action register and management summary; specialist engineering inspections, statutory examinations and technical certification remain with the appropriate providers.

  • How agreed management arrangements, risk assessments, training and action-management processes are applied in practice.
  • Slips, trips, housekeeping and common manual-handling tasks.
  • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH): substance inventories, safety data sheets, assessments, controls and training.
  • Dust-control arrangements, local exhaust ventilation (LEV), personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
  • Workplace transport, pedestrian segregation, loading and work-at-height planning.
  • Observable work-equipment concerns and contractor-management arrangements.
  • Incident records and the progress of resulting corrective actions.

COMMERCIAL WORKPLACE ASSURANCE · DELIVERY MODEL

Multi-site delivery

Multi-site is a delivery model within Commercial Workplace Assurance. Use the same agreed checks across several locations to compare recurring issues, see where controls differ and track open actions across the portfolio. This gives management a consistent basis for multi-site health and safety assurance.

  • Repeated findings and recurring themes
  • Open actions, owners and overdue items
  • Whether the evidence is sufficient or still missing, and which actions can close
  • Site-to-site differences in how controls are applied

Contractor Assurance

From approved contractor to evidenced contractor performance. Establish whether agreed contractor records, controls and site arrangements are in place and followed. This is useful across a contractor population, selected work packages or recurring site checks. VeriPrem reviews supplied records and observes agreed controls, returning a contractor assurance record, gaps, exceptions and an action register. The client retains appointment and contractor-management responsibility.

  • Competence and qualification evidence provided; insurance and document records.
  • Risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), induction arrangements and agreed site controls.
  • Visible adherence to specified controls, completion documentation and outstanding actions.

06 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

A defined review or recurring assurance

Start with a baseline review, arrange periodic visits or use a recurring multi-site programme. For a concentrated action workload, Action Closure & Verification can include temporary backlog and surge capacity to review records, organise visits and return action statuses.

07 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

Priority sectors. Practical examples.

These workplaces show where the approach has a strong operational fit. They are examples, not limits on the premises we can support.

Bakeries & food manufacturing

Bakery health and safety work can cover dust-control and LEV management arrangements, COSHH, manual handling, workplace transport, housekeeping, training, PPE/RPE and action follow-up. Specialist exposure measurement and health surveillance remain with competent providers.

Warehousing & logistics

A warehouse health and safety inspection can cover vehicle/pedestrian interfaces, loading areas, storage and racking observations, manual handling, work at height, housekeeping, contractor controls and outstanding actions. General racking observations are not a formal racking inspection.

Restaurants & hospitality

A restaurant health and safety audit can cover slips and trips, handling tasks, hot surfaces, chemicals, work-equipment observations, training, contractor arrangements and action closure. This does not provide food-safety certification.

Hotels & multi-site operations

Review staff safety, back-of-house conditions, contractor controls and property observations, with consistent records across sites and attention to accessibility and lift-outage arrangements.

08 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

Suitable across a wider range of workplaces

These sectors reflect particularly relevant operational experience, but they are not the limit of the service. VeriPrem can also support offices, retail and customer-facing premises, light manufacturing, workshops, depots, commercial property, mixed-use estates, facilities-managed premises and other operational workplaces where the agreed scope sits within our competence. The method reflects the premises, activities and risks involved.

09 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

Action Closure & Verification for commercial operations

Establish which workplace actions can close and the next step for those that cannot. Action Closure & Verification reviews existing records, identifies evidence gaps, checks agreed visible outcomes where needed and routes technical questions for specialist confirmation. Individual actions, batches and larger backlogs receive an evidence-linked status and next step. Health and safety action closure uses the same six statuses across housing and commercial programmes.

  • Verified against agreed observable completion criteria
  • Incomplete
  • Unable to verify
  • Specialist confirmation required
  • Further action identified
  • Escalated

COMMERCIAL WORKPLACE ASSURANCE · CAPABILITY

Incident Action Follow-up

Within Commercial Workplace Assurance, where an incident has already resulted in corrective actions, VeriPrem can track those actions, revisit the workplace where needed and check whether agreed changes have been implemented. Your team receives an updated action record with evidence and unresolved matters. Specialist technical, legal or forensic investigation remains outside this capability.

11 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

Know what remains open and why.

An action record gives local managers their next step and lets central teams identify matters that need a wider response. Agreed reporting fields include:

  • Priority
  • Owner
  • Due date
  • Evidence requirement
  • Closure status
  • Recurring theme

SUPPORTING DELIVERY

Operational reset support

Within an agreed workplace programme, VeriPrem can organise deep cleaning, housekeeping improvements, clearance and corrective tasks, with technical work referred to the appropriate specialist. Completion records show what was done and what remains outstanding.

13 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

Where these services stop

Technical diagnosis, testing and certification remain with the appropriately competent specialist. VeriPrem identifies the question, provides the relevant records and reconnects the specialist’s conclusion to the action.

Is Workplace Assurance retained H&S consultancy?

No. It checks agreed controls in practice and follows actions through. It does not provide retained competent-person advice, policy drafting, management-system consultancy or legal advice, and does not replace statutory examinations or specialist engineering inspections.

Does Contractor Assurance approve or certify contractors?

No. It reviews agreed control evidence and observable implementation. It is not procurement or vendor approval, blanket competence certification or technical workmanship or trade sign-off. The client retains appointment and ultimate contractor-management responsibility; VeriPrem does not assume Principal Contractor or Principal Designer duties.

14 / COMMERCIAL WORKPLACES

Access when the lift is unavailable.

Hotels and other commercial buildings can plan for planned shutdowns and urgent non-fire breakdowns, assess individual access arrangements and receive records of agreed responses. Direct powered stair-climber assistance is subject to suitability, mobilisation, availability and completed operational launch controls; no immediate call-out or response time is promised.
